Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2

Warning, may contain minor spoilers.

I thought I’d give a brief rundown of season 2, in which the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can barely call themselves S.H.I.E.L.D. as everything’s gone a bit wrong with that organisation. In fact, they don’t even seem to be the only people who think they are the real S.H.I.E.L.D.

Season 2 throws in a load of new characters so you’re going to have to learn a lot of new names, fast. But a lot of the main agents from season 1 survived, it’s just that some of them may have changed, just a little. So let’s check in on some of the main agents.

Skye/Daisy jumps into season 2 sporting a fringe and has a not-so-happy family reunion. She has also learnt fighting skills from May rather quickly.

Ward grows into the psychopath he apparently always was, and actually, it does become believable.

Coulson has all sorts of issues trying to keep the World in check but his team is there to save the day, rather handily (pun intended – you’ll see)…

May’s ice heart melts just a little bit more and we finally find out what happened to make her the Ice Queen – and it’s enough to screw anyone up.

Fitz-Simmons go through all sorts of character growth and changes, and we almost get to see the adorable pairing become a reality, but not quite. Damn those pesky alien artifacts.

Mack is kind of new around here. He looks like a tough guy that you really wouldn’t want to piss off, but he really is a teddy bear.

Bobbi and Hunter are also new and show us how not to do love. Bobbi is also looking to overtake May in the kick-ass-lady-does-gymnastic-style-martial-arts stakes.

And to sum up season 2, things don’t go the way you might expect, there’s lots of fighting, tears, and arguing. I don’t think I actually could briefly sum up the season as such a lot happens and there are tons of plot lines going on. In fact, there seems to be a lot more going on than in season 1 thanks to all the new characters. It’s quite different to season 1 as everything has changed for S.H.I.E.L.D., but all in all, it’s a pretty damn enjoyable season. And just to give a sneak preview to season 3, Skye/Daisy is now sporting a shorter haircut. I’m wondering if this is a theme, every season, Skye/Daisy has a new haircut. I guess I’ll have to keep watching to find out!
